LHS falls in season opener
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Things got off to a rocky start for the Lebanon High School in the Yellowjackets opening game of play on Sunday at the ESPN Disney Wide World of Sports as LHS fell to Charlotte Country Day (N.C.) in its season opened, 7-0.
Senior right hander Christian Watson got the start on the mound for LHS and thew the first five innings. He cruised through the Buccaneers line-up in the third and fifth innings, but saw Charlotte County do its damage in the first, second and fourth innings.
Charlotte Country Day (N.C.) scored two runs with two outs in the first thanks to a walk, an infield error and an RBI double to take a 2-0 lead. The Bucs added another run in the top of the second thanks to a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead, then scored again in the fourth to take a 4-0.
Jared Braddy threw the final two innings for LHS and recorded a quick 1-2-3 inning in the sixth, but saw the Bucs score three times in the top of the seventh thanks to a pair of wild pitches.
