Edna Marie Cole

Edna Marie Cole, 94, of Richland, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, in Richland.

She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Princeton, Tenn. to Henry Herbert and Nannie Elizabeth Terrell Melton.

On Aug. 17, 1941, she married Doyne Irving Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Doyne Cole Jr.; two grandsons, Ross Parker and Ryan Parker; three brothers, Ralph, Daniel, and Henry Melton Jr.; three sisters, Louise Van Gorp, Helen Oldham, and Elnora Trolson.

She was a personnel specialist for the Civil Service.

Survivors include two of her children, Averil Poulson and her husband, David, of Springfield; Georgia Oursbourn and her husband, Dennis, of Stoutland; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Cole, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; grandchildren, Rick Parker, Tamorah Harrison, Amy Cole, Valarie Sanford and her husband, Chad, Jim Nunley and his wife, Jennifer, Jason Oursbourn and his wife, Kathie, Tabitha Triplett and her husband, Robert, Eric Oursbourn and his wife, Jessie, Amy Henson and her husband, David, and Kimberly Hanna; great-grandchildren, Felicia Taylor and Olivia Nunley, Samantha Burton, Tayte Triplett, Marissa, London, Gunner Henson, Riley, Conner and Alora Kallman, Abagail Oursbourn, Dylan Oursbourn and his wife, Dana, Cody and Jacob Oursbourn, Matthew Trocha, Nathaniel Parker and his wife, Sara, Ryan and Kathryn Harrison; great-great-grandchildren, Jameson and Kohen Parker and Aidan Oursbourn, numerous nieces, nephews and friends around the world.

A Celebration of Life for Edna Marie Cole will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at

First Baptist Church in Richland with Bob Lily and Mark Tallant officiating.

There will be a burial at a later date at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schereville, Ind. At her request her body has been cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Memorials have been suggested to Kids Alive or Awana, and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
