Whether it’s for some outdoor family fun or a way to bring in some extra spending cash,  the harvest of black walnuts, is a popular fall activity in Missouri.

David McDaniel and Daniel Pattison, both of Lebanon filled up a pickup bed with walnuts over a recent weekend.

McDaniel said they found walnuts around 4th Street and other parts of town.

“We just do it to pass time away and make a little spare money,” McDaniel said. He said the pickup  load should bring them about $130 by the time they are hulled.

AgriServices in Lebanon will take loads of Walnuts until Nov. 6. They are paying $15 per 100 pounds.
