Wagons for Warriors, an annual fundraiser to help veterans in need, will bring an authentic western atmosphere to Lebanon May 26 and 27.

In its seventh year, Wagons for Warriors will fill the Laclede County Fairgrounds with 32 wagons from multiple states, including Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Tennesse, Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri, all of which will be serving up delicious chuck wagon meals for charity, according to organizer Steve Hull.

“These are all authentic chuck wagons that you would have seen in the cattle drive era of the 1880s and most all of these wagons are award-winning wagons and the owners are award-winning cooks,” Hull said. “A lot of them have won national championships.”

The cooks also will be dressed in period clothing from the 1800s, adding to the authenticity of the event. Many events and special guests are planned.
