The deadline for Revive 66’s art contest for children up to age 17 has been extended to Jan. 31.
One winner will receive a brand-new Slammer BMX bike from Bikes to You of Grinnell, Iowa.
The Workin’ Bridges group  is currently attempting to save  the Gasconade River Route 66 Bridge in Hazelgreen. They are also engaged in a nationwide campaign to save endangered historic bridges along Route 66.
As part of the campaign, children ages 2-17 are invited to create an image of a friendly troll named Grins. Grins is a troll from Iowa who has lost his home (a bridge) in a recent flood. He is traveling with his friend Cheery the Cardinal, in search of a new home. Because he has lost everything in the flood, including his mirror, he does not know what he looks like. Budding artists are invited to create the winning image of Grins
There is no cost to participate in the contest.
