Nearly 1,500 deer harvested in Laclede County

Deer hunters in Laclede County brought in 1,439 deer during the opening weekend of the November fall firearms deer season.
According to preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Laclede County hunters harvested 814 antlered bucks, 146 button bucks and 479 does. 
The MDC data shows  that deer hunters throughout Missouri harvested a total 94,977 deer Nov. 11 and 12. Of those, 54,027 were antlered bucks, 9,535 were button bucks, and 31,415 were does.
Top harvest counties for opening weekend were Howell with 2,095 deer checked, Franklin with 2,060 and Texas with 1,855.
