Some of the people responsible for the Agricultural Legacy Center, a new building on the fairgrounds, use gold shovels to break ground Friday morning.

“For the whole Fair Board, this has always been a dream,” said Glenn Raef, Laclede County Fair Board President, summing up the feelings of the Fair Board and many other groups in Lebanon about the new Agricultural Legacy Center to be built on the fairgrounds next to the existing Ag Arena.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new building took place Friday morning with many groups represented.

“There were four of us that pursued this really hard: Sam Lower, myself, Craig Evans and Bill Hash,” Raef said.
