A 34-year-old Eldridge man died Monday afternoon as a result of a three-vehicle wreck on North Missouri 5 near Julie Road.

Dustin Selvy, 34, of Eldridge, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Laclede County Coroner Steve Murrell just before 5 p.m. His next of kin has been notified at this time, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's accident report.

At about 4:22 p.m. Monday, Selvy's 2007 Ford Fusion was stopped on Missouri 5 behind a 2003 Chevrolet 2500 driven by 33-year-old Heather Lenard that was attempting to turn left onto Julie Road when his car was struck by a 2002 GMC Yukon driven by a 16-year-old from Lebanon. The impact caused Selvy's car to strike the vehicle stopped in front of it, the report says.

The drivers of the other vehicles involved in the wreck were transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. All drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts.

According to the MSHP, this is the second fatality for Troop I, which includes Laclede County, and the 27th fatality wreck for the state for 2016.
